#2 Bilingualism

The dictionary says that bilingual is a person or community that speak 2 languages.

To me it means something slightly different. So many people claim to be bilingual but when they have to do something they are suddenly quiet and go missing. English is not learning glossaries, is not learning spelling and it is not knowing rules.

English is communication, using critical thinking and being able to talk to anyone in any situation. When grading my students I think who could be dropped in an to any English town or city and be able to have a 10,20,30 minute conversation with a stranger aboyt any subject that comes up.

That is what I believe Bilingualism is.
